Tin Foil Astronaut - Live Instore

Friday 9th August
Smugglers Record Shop
17:00 - 18:00

Hailing from the Kent countryside, Tin Foil Astronaut is the vehicle for multi-instrumentalist and producer Max Taylor’s whims and obsessions. The projects latest cut ‘Without a Sound’ can be streamed now before it’s official release via 27/28 records on 09/08/19. This comes ahead of a debut headline outing at London’s Servant Jazz Quarters 05/08/19.

Speaking about the track, Taylor says: 'the idea for the song came from imagining what it would feel like to be completely lost in space, and the freedom that can come from disconnecting from everything once in a while. Written on an acoustic guitar in a damp and dingy basement, the songs origin is quite a contrast to it's theme'.

Tin Foil Astronaut combine surreal and melancholy tinged lyricism with a love of ethereal guitar and synth textures to evoke an otherworldly atmosphere. After sharing stages with the likes of Mini Mansions, Broken Hands and Olden Yolk, the project quickly developed from bedroom demos with the help of close friends to a fully fledged collective, crafting alluring and cinematic pop music.

'Glacial dream pop with a fuzzed up edge, reminiscent of Galaxie 500 filtered through the lens of a distortion pedal' CLASH
